The 5th Annual Evening in Red
Was Best Ever!
(AUSTIN, MN
– April 25, 2008) The Mower County Chapter of the American Red
Cross is pleased to report that they netted over $34,000 through
the 5th Annual Evening in Red. The Evening in Red fundraiser
was held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Austin Country Club,
Austin, Minnesota. The evening began with a silent auction and
social hour. Following a delicious dinner, the evening
continued with a live auction. The grand prize drawing for the
$1,000 money tree brought an exciting end to the
evening.
We want to
thank the many area businesses and individuals who generously
donated items for the silent and live auctions. Debbie Vorpahl,
event co-chair said, “The success of our event is due to
generous donations of auction items and the people attending and
bidding on the items. The support of the donors and the event
attendees raises the funds needed to deliver Red Cross services
to Mower County residents.”
The Mower
County community has always been very supportive of the American
Red Cross. The money raised from this event will pay for motel
rooms and food for families who’ve lost their homes to fire;
will provide scholarships for CPR, 1st aid and
babysitter’s training courses; help military families dealing
with family crisis and help many of your friends and neighbors.
The date for next year’s event is April 25, 2009. Plan to join
us!
