A  CASE  FOR  GIVING PROUDLY

What organization in our community:

  • Prevents newly homeless families from having to live on the street?

  • Assists a woman who speaks only Spanish get into a domestic abuse shelter?

  • Sends an urgent message across the globe to a family member in a country where there has been a major earthquake?

  • Provides a family with emergency food and shelter and helps them replace eye glasses and vital prescription medicines lost when their home burned?

  • Advocates for local military families facing emergency financial and other crises?

  • Provides young people with potentially life-saving emergency skills and helps them develop leadership skills?

  • Helps individuals in countries where there is no government, e.g., Somalia, to obtain vital international travel documents?

  • Provides translation services for a newly-arrived Russian family that speaks no English so they can receive basic social services?

The answer: YOUR AMERICAN RED CROSS.

For more than 100 years in our community, the American Red Cross has been meeting the critical needs of individuals and families faced with an array of otherwise daunting and potentially overwhelming challenges.

Day-in and day-out, the American Red Cross responds to human needs in our community that no other organization does. Moreover, it is an organization that is trusted like few others in the world. People, whether they have lived here all their lives or have just arrived here from another country, know the Red Cross as a symbol of hope and help.

The Red Cross provides its humanitarian services free of charge. The recipients are never asked to repay what they have received. We can do this because of people like you who support the American Red Cross with their financial contributions. To learn more about the people you can help, either contact us or check out our giving opportunities page.
