Image: brochuresAmerican Red Cross | The Weather Channel

The American Red Cross has joined The Weather Channel on a national safety and preparedness initiative called PROJECT SAFESIDE: Keeping You Ahead Of The Storm. The goal of the project is to raise national awareness of the need to plan and prepare for severe weather. Below are important resources from The Weather Channel and the American Red Cross for you to consider as you prepare for severe weather emergencies in the months to come.

On The SafeSide Resource Guide
On The SafeSide is now available to integrate preparedness in local classrooms. The purpose of this guide is to involve students to collaborate in coordinating, analyzing, and presenting data they have found on the science, frequency and safety of weather events and natural hazards most likely to affect their area. On The SafeSide includes weather activities and resources that address social studies, science, mathematics, and language arts. Teachers can select the activities and classroom set-up that works best for their students. To obtain an On The SafeSide packet and to find out how to obtain PROJECT SAFESIDE brochures and other important disaster safety information, contact us.
