A Partner with the United Way

Since the founding of the Junior Red Cross in 1917, young

people and the Red Cross have been partners. Today, this partnership is more important than ever. Providing young people with comprehensive paths for education and training and volunteer/community service opportunities throughout their lives is a major thrust of the Red Cross National Youth Agenda. Youth are rising to the challenge -- young people up to 25 comprise 38 percent of Red Cross volunteers.

We offer many different opportunities for schools, volunteers, and youth. These include First Aid Workshops, Basic Aid Training, and Safety Saturday.
