The ability to supply the
community with lifesaving blood is made possible primarily through the help of
volunteers. Blood Donor Assistant volunteers provide front line customer service
to blood donors, serving in positions such as registration, refreshment serving,
and donor recognition. As there are blood drives and collection sites all over
our jurisdiction, 7 days a week, this is an excellent opportunity for a
volunteer to help in their own community. Safety and confidentiality training is
provided. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, unless accompanied by an
adult. Families and friends are encouraged to volunteer together. Administrative
volunteers assist in the office to greet and direct visitors, answer the phones,
and complete various clerical projects. Blood Services Drivers / Navigators
transport blood products and supplies to and from collections sites. They also
deliver blood to area testing facilities and hospitals. Drivers must be over 21
years of age with a valid Minnesota driver's license and clean driving record. Long and short
distance routes are available, with hours in the daytime, evening, and on
weekends. For information on Blood Services volunteer opportunities, contact
